This packet is for students struggling to grasp the concept of variables. The worksheet starts with adding with variables, and all of the problems look the same. Next, the same concept is used, but the variable is put on the other side of the equation. These incremental steps allow the students to practice solving equations that follow the same concept but look a little different. Designed to increase confidence in those who fear math.
Created for my GED students but great for younger levels also, this worksheet has students solve 3-step equations, then color the coded worksheet. Great for classwork, Bell Ringers, morning math, independent practice, remediation, and homework.
Get ready for some relaxation for you or your GED students by downloading this free Adult Coloring Book. 20 pages to color.
This card game is played like regular Rummy except instead of using the normal suits (diamond, spade, heart, clubs), the suits are x, x squared, y, y squared, and xy. Matches are only allowed with like terms so that instead of a normal Rummy play of a 2,3,4 of hearts, students must play 2x, 3x, and 4x for example. Cards are color coded to aid students who are struggling.
This is a great way to keep the class engaged with a fun activity while still reinforcing an important Algebraic concept. Wonderful game to play as a reward when students have finished their end-of-year testing. Works best in small groups. Can be used for review, remediation, or just to put a little variety in the classroom.
In order to tally scores at the end of each hand, students will also practice their basic math computation skills. Sure to add some excitement and competition to your day!
Adult Coloring packet for Halloween! 25 pages to color. Wonderful for relaxation and meditation to calm GED students.
